The movie 'Paranormal Activity' used the internet to determine where the largest demand was for their production. The audience had to go to a specific website and vote for the first screenings to be shown in their town. This helped the movie to increase hype and anticipation for the release. The advertising campaign for the movie was also mainly distributed on the internet, mainly seen on the video sharing website 'YouTube' where the trailer reached over 25,000,000 views.
